Ok, so we have the internet in our new place and, as if that wasn't good enough, we have a brand new Apple on which Elise and I may ply our craft. Let me recap the events of the past few days.
On Monday we head to Dallas where I finally finish the last of my mountains of paperwork needed wrap up my chiropractic internship for good. Then we head to Macaroni Grill, in the midst of a decent fight that was the subject of the previous offering, where Elise decides that her chicken is a bit pink. I think it was fine, but, believe me, it was no time to argue. Word to the wise: if you tell them your chicken is pink, there is no chance you are paying for it and you are more than likely going to be putting away some dessert on the house as well. Yes, we were THAT couple, which felt weird, but I think I have earned it by being the person who doesn't even care if they bring the wrong entree at a restaurant. But what with the dessert and the size of the bill, things were definately looking up.
After watching The Life Aquatic (pretty funny in that Royal Tenenbaums sort of way), we head to my friends new house, which he is remodeling, to spend the night. That seemed to be going fine, but he sort of failed to mention the fact that he had no bathroom doors, so that added a unique level of excitement.
The next day I actually check out of my clinic, vow never to return, and we head to Raising Canes to celebrate with a metric ton of chicken strips. If you have never had Cane's chicken then you need to get out of the house, man. That crap is awesome.
Now, after hearing for about 3 months about how much better Macs are than PCs and how it will sync so well with her iPod, we go to the Apple store to "look"......which of course meant "buy", as it seems to mean more and more these days. 6 hours later we are back on the road, but with a new pearly white, very chick(not to be confused with chic)-looking computer in the back. But you want to talk about a happy wife? She was lovin' it. Argument? What argument? Ecstacy. Followed by all day today to mess with it and load song after song.
That brings us to approx. 6:00 pm today. I hear a "WHAT!!" "NOOO!!" and very contemplatively, "Oh..........shit". Yeah, it turns out that the 2500+ songs she spent until 3:00 in the morning yesterday loading from iPod to computer are gone. Oh, and the iPod, yeah..........that's empty too.
"Code, Macs are so much easier to use. People just don't know it because they don't bother spending the time to learn. And all of their stuff is so compatible. They are SOOOOOO much better."
The iPod is EMPTY.............EMPTY!!!!!!!!
We have one chance for recovery and we've got a fire-wire adapter that is MIA. The mission is a go in O'1200 hours.......and morale is low...again
