How do you deal with hearing that you're probably never going to see a person again; because they're probably not going to make it; because they are dying; because they are NOT GOING TO LIVE; even though they don't deserve it, and they're still so young, and they were supposed to go to New York City just last week; I MEAN, I HELPED HER PLAN THE TRIP A MONTH AGO, and now she's stuck in a hospital and she's getting better, no she isn't, and now she really isn't, and it's on to the next room, and then more tests, and, and it just doesn't matter, does it?
There are situations in life that no amount of humor can make ok, or even bearable.
