Here's my musing for today:
I think (and pardon my apparent lack of knowledge as to the NEW rules of polite and appropriate behavior), that when a MAN makes a mistake, and then his mistake is found out, he ought to stand up, like a man, and take the consequences.
I do not think that instead, this man who made a mistake should then whisper his mistake to the secretary, and then send her in to the wolves to take all the ensuing fury (for his mistake, lest we forget).
Be a freaking man. Don't throw your secretary or anyone on a "lower" level than you under the bus just to save your own ass. It doesn't speak well of your character, and it certainly doesn't inspire any respect as a leader or authority.
Besides, us secretaries are usually cute and/or sweet. And we do the vast majority of your shit for you, so give us some f-ing respect sometimes. It wouldn't kill you.
