My brother just gave Cody a Christmas present. It was packaged in an old banjo box marked FRAGILE, and consisted of a Tom Wolfe book AND a bottle of liquor. I think that this might just be The Best Christmas Present Ever. We all discussed the genius in such an unprecedented combination, and eventually decided that it will, from now on, be my brother's Signature Trademark Present. Over the years, as he continues to bless people with such a thoughtful gift, he will come to understand the perfect amalgamation of alcohol and literature. For example, Hemingway might go very nicely with a stiff brandy, or perhaps one might enjoy a shot or two of tequila while perusing Don Quixote. The options are limitless.
In other news, I'll be cruising across Mexico and the turquoise waters of the Western Caribbean for the next several days, so posts may be few and far between. However, I do fully intend to try and email some interesting observations, which should be many and close together, over to the blog. And I promise they'll be at least A LITTLE better than "Jill says hi".
